BAN v PAK 2021: Pakistan names 12-member squad for 1st T20I; Asif Ali, Imad Wasim rested

With just a few hours away from the 3-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Pakistan, the Babar Azam-led have announced their 12-member squad for the first T20I, which begins on November 19.

Pakistan has rested Imad Wasim and Asif Ali for the first T20I match, while the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Hasan Ali, and Haris Rauf, who were a regular feature during T20 World Cup 2021, are named in the 12-member squad.

In place of Imad Wasim, Asif Ali, and Mohammad Hafeez, who opted out of the tour, the trio of Mohammad Wasim Jr, Khushdil Shah, and Mohammad Nawaz have found places in the squad for the first T20I against Bangladesh at Dhaka. 

The second and the third T20I will be played at the same venue on 20th and 22nd November respectively while Tests will be played from 26th November to 4th December. 

Here’s the Pakistan squad for the first T20I against Bangladesh: 

Babar Azam (c), Shadab Khan (vc), Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shoaib Malik.
