Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh made a stunning rise in the latest ICC Men's T20I rankings after his brilliant batting performance in the recent T20I series in the West Indies and in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Mirpur on Tuesday (August 3).
Marsh has been in blistering form with the bat in T20Is recently, as he first amassed scored 219 runs in the T20I series against the West Indies and now continued in the same vein in the first match of the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
The right-hander was the top-scorer for Australia with 45 runs as Bangladesh thrashed the tourists by 23 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the T20I series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
Following the knock on Tuesday, Marsh has moved up 13 places to the joint 25th position in the Men's T20I batting rankings released by the ICC on Wednesday (August 4) alongside Bangladesh's Mohammad Naim, who gained seven spots in the rankings.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan's all-round show in the first T20I – returned with the figures of 1/24 with and hit crucial knock of 36 against Australia – saw him moved up six places to 56th in the batting rankings, as well as, jumped three spots to reach 18th position among bowlers.
Shakib also retained his second place in the T20 rankings for the all-rounders while Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi remains the number one all-rounder in the latest rankings.
On the other hand, West Indies batsman Nicholas Pooran moved up 15 places to the 48th position in the T20 Rankings for the batsmen after his stunning 62* in the second T20I against Pakistan, while Jason Holder also moved up 17 places to the 53rd spot in the rankings after taking 4/26 in the same game.
Notably, Pakistan pacer Hassan Ali has also gained six spots to move up to number 60.
