Former India chief selector MSK Prasad feels Tamil Nadu batsman Abhinav Mukund should’ve got more opportunities during his tenure. Mukund couldn't make a permanent place in the side despite his good outings in domestic cricket.
Speaking on Mukund to Cricbuzz Plus, Prasad said he thinks about the Tamil Nadu batsman a lot. He also acknowledged his consistent performance in the domestic arena.

“I feel for Abhinav Mukund. It’s one of the worries when you sleep, you feel you could have given an opportunity to him longer. Maybe we could have, these guys have been exceptional in domestic and India A cricket,” he said.
Mukund, 31, has 10258 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 47.93 after playing 145 matches. The Tamil Nadu opener has represented India in only 7 matches and he could add 320 runs in 14 innings.
Recently, Prasad had also opened up on Suresh Raina's comment where he accused the selectors of not showing clarity while dropping him. The ex-India chief selector responded to Raina by saying he expected the senior batsman to go back to domestic cricket and prove himself.
"Unfortunately, we didn't see that form here in Raina's case in domestic cricket while other youngsters emerged at the big stage with their brilliant performances in domestic cricket and India A," Prasad had said.
