Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar is considered to be one of the best batsmen India has ever produced. Gavaskar who was the first batsman to score over 10,000 runs in Test cricket, faced a lot of deadly fast bowlers the game has ever seen.

When Gavaskar played for India, there were super dangerous fast bowlers in world cricket such as West Indies quartet of Malcolm Marshall, Joel Garner, Michael Holding, and Andy Roberts, along with Australia's Jeff Thomson and Dennis Lillee, Imran Khan of Pakistan, Ian Botham of England and Richard Hadlee of New Zealand.

In his recent interaction on the Cricket Analyst Show on YouTube, the former right-hand batsman revealed two of the most dangerous bowlers he ‘feared’ the most.

Jeff Thomson of Australia | GettyTwo bowlers whom I feared in terms of pace, and quality of bowling. In terms of pace, I think Jeff Thomson was the quickest and in terms of the ability to get your out any time,” the Mumbai-based batsman said.

Andy Roberts of West Indies | GettyIt was Andy Roberts, with Malcolm Marshall, Richard Hadlee, and Imran Khan just a bit below. But Andy had the great ability to get you out even if you’re past a 100. He was the bowler you had to be most watchful against,” he added.

The legendary batsman then talked about the best batsman he ever saw in world cricket.

I think everybody agrees that it is Viv Richards for the way he dominated the opposition attack. Just took the game away. So he's got to be the best opposition batsman that I have seen,” Gavaskar signed off.

The 71-year-old represented India in 125 Test matches with over 10,000 runs to his name along with 3092 runs in 108 ODIs.
