Pakistan cricket team’s departure for their white-ball tour of England has been delayed two days after the delay in the resumption of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The 6th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was suspended after COVID-19 cases inside the bio-bubble earlier this year after only 14 matches were completed in Pakistan.

However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) planned to conduct the remainder of the 20 PSL 2021 games in Abu Dhabi from the first week of June, but now the tournament is likely to resume on June 9 in Abu Dhabi due to the late arrival of several players, officials, and broadcasters.

On Wednesday, June 2, the PCB held an online meeting with the PSL franchise owners and it was decided that the remainder of the PSL 06 will now end on June 24, four days later than originally planned, which is Pakistan's scheduled departure for England.

PCB hopes to resume the PSL 2021 on June 7 which means the Pakistan team will leave for the UK tour on June 25 to play three ODIs followed by three T20Is, starting July 8 against England.

As reported by Cricbuzz, the PCB said in a release: “Now, Pakistan men's team is to depart for England on 25 June instead of 23 June. Departure for England on 25 June will mean only three double-headers, if the event commences on 7 June.”
