Yuzvendra Chahal points out similarities in the captaincy styles of Dhoni, Kohli and Rohit

Chahal has established himself as the leading spinner in India's white-ball team.

Rohit Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal and Virat Kohli | GettyIndian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has played under the leadership of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli as well as Rohit Sharma. He pointed out the similarities in their captaincy styles in a recent interview.

While Chahal made his international debut under Dhoni in 2016, he has primarily played under Kohli for Team India and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The wrist-spinner has also delivered the goods under the captaincy of Rohit at Mumbai Indians and also for the national team whenever Kohli was not available for a particular series.

Moreover, he enjoys a strong bonding with Rohit, as evident from his social media posts.

"My bonding with Rohit Bhaiya has been since 2011 when I joined Mumbai Indians. My first IPL debut was all because of Rohit Bhaiya," Chahal told India TV Cricket in an exclusive chat.

"He came to my room and said 'tu kal khelega'. It took me by surprise because the team already had two great spinners in Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha with Test cricket experiences.

"But he was clear he wanted to play me. You won't see a captain playing three spinners at Wankhede but he gave me the debut because of my performance in Champions League and practice matches," he added.

According to Chahal, Rohit Sharma’s style of handling youngsters with care is similar to MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

"I think it's his way of being welcoming to youngsters and that is the same with MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli too as captains. They always are available for their players for both personal and professional issues. It is a culture of the Indian team now to make the youngsters feel welcome," he remarked.
