Yuvraj Singh and Herschelle Gibbs while talking to their Twitter handles welcomed West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard to the 6 sixes club.
West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard on Thursday became only the third player after Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh to hit 6 sixes in an over in international cricket.
Chasing the target of 132, West Indies were tumbling at 52/3 when Pollard arrived at the crease. The hard-hitting batsman didn’t take much longer and in a classic exhibition of brutal power-hitting, he took Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya for 6 sixes in an over.

Ironically Dananjaya had just picked up a hat-trick in his previous over.
While addressing his 6 sixes, Kieron Pollard said that it was important for him to be positive and play his shots.
"I felt after hitting a couple of sixes, I understood how the pitch plays, it was important to be positive and play your shots. Back yourselves to clear the boundary,” Kieron Pollard said.
Pollard further remembered what went through his mind before hitting the 6th maximum. He said he was considering settling for 30 runs off the over but took a chance because that's the way he has played spinners all through his career.
"A couple of things went through my mind before the sixth ball, I thought should I go for the six or take the 30 runs in the over, he went around the wicket and bowled it onto my pads, I told myself 'Wait Polly, take a chance That's how I have played my cricket all along, especially against the spinners." he said.
Addressing Kieron Pollard’s six sixes, Herschelle Gibbs, who was the first man to achieve the feat in international cricket during a 2007 World Cup match against the Netherlands, congratulated the West Indies skipper for achievement.

Yuvraj Singh who was the first batsman to achieve the feat in T20Is, against England’s Stuart Broad in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, welcomed Kieron Pollard in the 6 sixes club.
