Sanath Jayasuriya, Yusuf Pathan to feature in Road Safety World Series

Recently retired cricketers Naman Ojha and Vinay Kumar will also play for India Legends.

The Road Safety World Series is set to commence yet again from March 5 in Raipur with a couple of added teams and a few added cricketers in the existing squads. Two of the most notable additions are 'The Matara Mauler' Sanath Jayasuriya and Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan.

With the Australian Legends dropping out, the Bangladesh Legends and England Legends have joined the tournament. In addition to these two, the four other teams will be India Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, West Indies Legends and South Africa Legends.

The India Legends have become stronger with the likes of Yusuf Pathan, Naman Ojha and R Vinay Kumar joining them. All three retired in the space of a week and will now be seen playing in the Road Safety World Series.

On the other hand, Tillekaratne Dilshan's Sri Lanka Legends have got one of the best openers of world cricket, Sanath Jayasuriya. Russel Arnold and another recently retired cricketer, Upul Tharanga will also turn up for the side representing the island nation.

The tournament will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur from March 5. The semi-finals will be played on March 17 and 19 followed by the Final on March 21.

India Legends, led by the great Sachin Tendulkar, will play the opening game of the competition against Bangladesh Legends, who will be led by Khaled Mahmud. The sale of tickets for the tournament has already begun.

India Legends squad: Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammed Kaif, Pragyan Ojha, Noel David, Munaf Patel, Irfan Pathan, Manpreet Gony, Yusuf Pathan, Naman Ojha, S Badrinath and Vinay Kumar.

Sri Lanka Legends squad: Thilakaratne Dilshan, Sanath Jayasuriya, Farveez Maharoof, Rangana Herath, Thilan Thushara, Ajantha Mendis, Chamara Kapugedera, Upul Tharanga, Chamara Silva, Chinthaka Jayasinghe, Dhammika Prasad, Nuwan Kulasekara, Russel Arnold, Dulanjana Wijesinghe and Malinda Warnapura.
