Cricket in the bio-secure environment has become the norm amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the West Indies white-ball skipper Kieron Pollard, while reflecting on life in bio-bubble said that it is difficult to stay cooped up under strict protocols and people won’t understand what players have to go through.

Even though cricket has started fully but it has brought a lot of challenges for the players as they have to play, train and live in a bio-bubble secure environment and are not allowed to go outside.

However, many players have raised concerns over playing regularly in bio-secure bubbles as they have to face psychological challenges and troubles with living in a bio-secure environment.

Addressing the same West Indies limited-overs skipper Kieron Pollard said that life in a bubble is very difficult and people won’t understand what players have to go through.

"Life in the bubble is very, very difficult. I have heard a lot of people's comments about it. They have not lived in a bubble, they don't understand what you have to go through," Kieron Pollard said.

Pollard said that when players decide to take a break from bubbles people should respect their decision.

"But again, it is what it is. We have to try to live with it, as much as possible and as long as possible. When guys decide to take breaks from bubbles, I don't think people should be upset. But again, only when you are in that position, you can understand," he said.

Kieron Pollard, who also plays in various T20 leagues around the world, said that he is used to getting to freelance cricketer role and added that he is focussing more on what value he can provide to the team.

"It is something I have gotten used to. Once you know what you are about in terms of performing for your team and playing your role, it is fine. The camaraderie and everything else come second.

As individuals traveling the world, you meet people and you get to understand their lives, understand their cultures. For me, I have been in it for a while now and have been able to adapt and work on any situation and try and be the best I can be," said Kieron Pollard.

Kieron Pollard has played only the ODIs and T20Is for West Indies and was appointed skipper of the limited-overs teams in September 2019.
