Former England captain Michael Vaughan was disappointed with Australia’s decision to postpone the Test tour of South Africa, criticizing Cricket Australia by questioning whether they would pull out of an India tour.

Australia was to travel to South Africa to play three World Test Championship Test matches next month, but CA on Tuesday postponed the tour citing the ongoing situation with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision, of course, didn't please the Cricket South Africa (CSA) with CSA director of Cricket Graeme Smith called the CA’s decision was frustrating. South Africa is currently playing in Pakistan.

Smith said: “We are extremely disappointed by the decision of CA. CSA has been working tirelessly in recent weeks to ensure that we meet every single expectation of CA.”

He further added, “This was set to be the longest tour in a BSE comprising a three-match Test series that was scheduled to begin with Australia's arrival later in the month. So to be informed about the CA decision at the eleventh hour is frustrating.”

Reacting to the latest development, Vaughan has asked if Australia would have postponed the tour of India while saying the development is a “huge worry” for the game.

He further said it is very important for the big three boards to do everything they can to help the other cricket playing nations in this challenging time, especially financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vaughan wrote on Twitter: “The Aussies pulling out of the tour of SA is a huge worry for the game...Would they have pulled out of a tour to India is the question??!!”

He added, “It's so important in these times that the big three do everything they can to help out those without the financial clout ...#JustSaying,”
