The England cricket team had traveled to Sri Lanka in March 2020 to play a Test series. However, due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the island nation, the tour had been called off and the visitors had to travel back home.
An England fan Rob Lewis had traveled to Sri Lanka as well for the Test series but decided to stay there when the series was canceled.
Lewis finally got an opportunity to watch his national team play Sri Lanka in Galle but was not allowed to enter the stadium due to the COVID-19 protocols. No crowd has been allowed in both the Tests between England and Sri Lanka.
Rob Lewis told AFP, "I am very frustrated. I waited 10 months to watch this match and the police have kicked me out. At least I managed to sing 'Jerusalem'."
However, Rob Lewis managed to get a view from the Galle Fort which is right next to the stadium. He tweeted a video of him finally getting to watch the game from there:

He then tweeted an interesting picture of himself from the fort wearing a safety helmet, a fluorescent jacket, and a mask with the caption, "Back on the Fort because I work here now"

England had an excellent day on the field with them bowling out the hosts for 135 in the first two sessions and scoring 127/2 in the final session.
