Kane Williamson rises to no.2 spot in ICC Test batting rankings; Stokes new no.1 all-rounder in Tests

Williamson shares the no.2 spot with India's Virat Kohli | APNew Zealand captain Kane Williamson has reached the no.2 spot in the ICC Test batting rankings, where he is placed jointly with Indian captain Virat Kohli. This recent development happened after his career-best 251 against West Indies in the first Test in Seddon Park.

With his recent performance, he gained 74 points, moving from 812 to 886. His compatriot, Tom Latham, garnered his career-best points tally of 733 and settled into the tenth place on the table, thanks to his innings of 86.

West Indies’ Jermain Blackwood’s second Test century hurled him up 17 places to 41st, his best position since reaching 40th in August 2017.

Meanwhile, Neil Wagner’s six wickets helped him back into the second spot in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings, ahead of England's Stuart Broad.

West Indies Test captain Jason Holder lost the top spot as the no.1 all-rounder in ICC Test all-rounder’s rankings after a poor showing against New Zealand and that spot is now occupied by England’s Ben Stokes. Stokes also has a 12-point advantage.
