Rohit Sharma may not be there in Australia helping the Indian team compete against the mighty hosts due to an injury but the experienced opener still managed to extend a streak to savour into its eighth year in the 50-overs international cricket.
For eight years in a row now, Rohit has ended up with the highest individual Indian ODI score as none of his fellow teammates, including the great Virat Kohli, managed a ton for the country in a pandemic-affected year.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak ravaged world cricket, Rohit made a superlative ton against Australia in Bangalore in January, scoring 119 in a difficult run-chase under pressure to help the team win that series 2-1.
Rohit Sharma's 8-year-long streak in ODIs:
2013 - 209
2014 - 264
2015 - 150
2016 - 171*
2017 - 208*
2018 - 152
2019 - 159
2020 - 119
In Rohit's absence, the Indian team have used Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill during the ODIs in Australia. The first-choice opener is currently recuperating from a hamstring injury he picked up during the IPL 2020 in UAE.
The NCA authorities in Bangalore will next be assessing Rohit's injury on December 11 when a final decision on his Test series participation will be taken.
