Sachin Tendulkar to fund treatment of 100 underprivileged children across six states

Tendulkar will sponsor the medical treatment through the Ekam Foundation.

Apart from being an iconic cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar is an inspirational human being off the field, as he has been continuously doing his bit to help the less fortunate, as well as, associated with various NGOs and non-profit organizations to help the poor children and women in the country.

Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar isn’t only a god for his cricket fans but also for many families off the field. The legendary Indian cricketer has yet again shown his human side to the world by lending his helping hands towards families who can’t bear the costs of their children's critical ailments.

Recently, the Master Blaster – who has been also associated with UNICEF, had helped Makunda Hospital in Assam's Karimganj district by providing equipment for their pediatric department with the contribution is expected to benefit more than 2000 children every year in Assam, India.

Now, Tendulkar has now joined hands with the Ekam Foundation, to financially assist the treatment of over 100 underprivileged children suffering from critical ailments across six states.

Ameeta Chatterjee, Managing Partner of the Ekam Foundation told PTI: “The association with Mr. Sachin Tendulkar through his foundation has been very fruitful and Sachin has done some very good work in the healthcare space. The association has worked towards providing quality health care for the underprivileged.”

Noteworthy, those 100 children would be from the various states in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Assam and receive treatments via Sachin Tendulkar and Ekam Foundation, which focuses on children receiving treatment in government and trust hospitals.
