Zimbabwe Cricket will be losing it's veteran all-rounder Elton Chigumbura after their ongoing bilateral series against Pakistan. The 34-year-old announced that he will bring the curtains down on his international career after the 3rd T20I against Pakistan on November 10.

Chigumbura made his debut for Zimbabwe in April 2004 in an ODI against Sri Lanka. Since then, he has scored over 5000 runs at the highest level and has picked 136 wickets in due course.

He has revealed to Zimbabwe Cricket that the reason for his retirement is that "injuries had continued to take a toll on him as well as to pave the way for young blood in the national side".

The official Twitter handle of Zimbabwe Cricket tweeted, "Former @ZimCricketv captain Elton Chigumbura is set to retire from international cricket at the end of the current @TheRealPCB tour. He has made 213 ODI and 14 Test appearances, with 54 T20Is under his belt before the start of his swansong series"

Chigumbura played U19 World Cups for Zimbabwe in 2002 and 2004. He was also a member of the squad for the ICC ODI World Cup 2011. Four years later, he led them in the ICC ODI World Cup 2015. He was also a part of the Zimbabwe side that achieved the famous victory against Australia in the 2007 T20 World Cup.
