Team India will leave for Australia next month | GettyTeam India are expected to depart for Australia just a couple of days after the IPL 2020 ends on November 10 in UAE. With less than a month to go, there is still no clarity when the teams are going to be picked for the marquee tour.

Meanwhile, a report published in TOI claims the present set of national selectors have been informed that a meeting will be held in a "week's time".

Earlier, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly confirmed that Cricket Australia (CA) has already shared an interim schedule and a final confirmation is awaited.

According to the report, CA is delaying the official announcement as the Queensland state is yet to give a go-ahead.

CA wants India’s outsized squad to strictly follow the COVID-related protocols, including the mandatory 14-day quarantine upon arriving Down Under.

"When does Cricket Australia expect the BCCI to announce the squads for the tour? It's already October 18 today and barely 23 days are left for the IPL to get over. If the team must fly immediately after the IPL, when will the teams be selected?" those tracking developments quoted as saying by TOI.

The report also suggests that the schedule could be announced this coming week, if all goes well. Subsequently, the selection meeting will also take place.

"The IPL still has three weeks left and it's going to be the business-end of the tournament. Player workloads must be managed because the tour of Australia is going to be lengthy. Already there are a couple of injuries," those tracking developments told TOI.
