IPL 2020: "KXIP's team spirit and camaraderie, second to none" - Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan lauded his team's effort following their win over MI in Dubai after multiple super overs.

Chris Jordan | BCCI/IPLWith two consecutive wins, Kings XI Punjab's (KXIP) hopes of making it through to the playoffs have certainly risen and their overseas pacer Chris Jordan believes the turnaround shows how "team spirit and camaraderie" within the camp is "second to none"

Jordan spoke after helping KXIP defeat Mumbai Indians (MI) in a multiple super over face-off in Dubai this Sunday (October 18), conceding just 11 runs off his six deliveries in the second super over despite bowling to the likes of Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya. Later, KXIP's Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal sealed their victory in just four deliveries.

"I feel like the way we have played a lot of our games this season, they could have been very easily ended with us on the winning side," Jordan said during the post-match press conference, as quoted by ANI

"Unfortunately, that was not the case. I think from the last two games, the kind of team spirit and camaraderie we have shown as an entire team and entire franchise has been second to none," he added.

Earlier, Jordan's pace partner Mohammad Shami delivered an outstanding first super over where his consistently accurate yorkers made sure KXIP didn't let MI get past the 5 runs they had only managed against opposition's ace quick Jasprit Bumrah.

Apart from his bowling exploits, Jordan contributed with the bat as well, scoring 13 runs off 8 balls to take the game to a tie in the run-chase along with Deepak Hooda (23*).

Skipper KL Rahul (77) batted in just as good a form but showed a more aggressive style of play through his knock, allowing KXIP to post an identical score after MI's 176/6.

"KL has been leading from the front and obviously, Mayank did not come off today but both of them have been giving us tremendous start at the top."

"It has not been reckless cricket, it has been controlled shots and good running between the wicket. You can see the impact the legend himself, Gayle, made in the last two games."

"It is great to have, what I considered to be a great of the game, in our team. His energy is unbelievable," Jordan signed off.
