CPL 2020: Sunil Narine got treated for kidney stones, reveals TKR coach Brendon McCullum

Sunil Narine missed out on three matches for Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020. Brendon McCullum, the TKR coach revealed the reason being the that the star bowler was getting treated for kidney stones.

Narine smashed a couple of half-centuries at the start of CPL but had to sit out because of kidney stones. But the franchise didn't miss his presence as they continued their unbeaten streak in the tournament till now.

Speaking about the star off-spinner ahead of the match against Jamaica Tallawahs, McCullum said Narine has recovered after the removal of stone from the kidney and feeling better.

Narine opened the innings for TKR in his comeback match and scored 29 runs off 11 deliveries. He also bagged one wicket in a four-over spell.

"He's good, he had a bit of an issue, a strange injury actually - kidney stones and he had them removed the other day," McCullum revealed to the broadcasters. "He has been good, ever since he had them taken out he has been great. He played football yesterday, which he loves. We saw him really get up for that as well. He's determined for a big performance today, hopefully we see the best of him.

"He started the tournament so well, we know he's such a world-class player especially in these types of conditions."

Knight Riders won the 21st match of the tournament by 19 runs. They restricted Tallawahs on 165/6 in a 185-run chase.
