Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir was caught licking his fingers and applying saliva on the cricket ball during the first T20I against England. ICC has banned the usage of saliva in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amir might have forgotten there's a strict guideline to avoid saliva to shine the cricket ball. A video is surfacing on the internet in which he is licking his finger on his way back to the run-up.

This was the first competitive match for Amir during the pandemic. He isn't a Test player anymore and with no limited-overs cricket for Pakistan in the last 5 months, Amir will take time to adjust.

COVID-19 has made cricket tough and every little thing is taken into notice to avoid the spread of the virus among players.

Earlier, during England vs West Indies Test series, Jofra Archer had to sit out for a Test after he breached the bio-secure protocols. The pacer, while traveling from Southampton to Manchester, took a detour to visit his home in Birmingham.
