Australia's legendary spinner Shane Warne was part of the historic Test match between Australia and India at Eden Gardens in 2001. It was tough on Aussies to endure the iconic partnership between VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid.

Australia was thinking about an easy victory after India got bowled out on just 171 in reply of their 445 in first innings. But then came a marathon rearguard action from Laxman and Dravid to create history. They both put-up a partnership of 376 runs as India piled up 657/7 declared in second innings.

Warne recalled the match and a long day for Aussies on the field. "I remember standing in slips in between bowling about 4000 overs and getting hammered around the ground. I discussed my favorite movies with Adam Gilchrist, we swapped hats and tried everything to try and not think about it. My favorite songs... I think we were delirious,” Warne said on air during the third Test between England and Pakistan at the Ageas Bowl.

Warne finished with 1/152 from 34 overs as Dravid and Laxman batted for an entire day. Laxman scored a career-best knock of 281.

“But they played beautifully, Laxman and Dravid. In my time, it was as good an innings as there was. Laxman’s innings was beautiful, Dravid was exceptional too. Sometimes you just have to say ‘too good’,” Warne added.
