Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Kashif Bhatti will be joining the squad despite a COVID-19 scare which left him self-isolating in the UK upon arrival from the rest of the squad.
Bhatti had arrived in England with the second batch of players who had tested positive for Coronavirus in Pakistan initially but had returned two negatives on follow-up tests conducted by the PCB and one more by the airline they were traveling to the UK on.

However, in the tests conducted on arrival in the UK, as per ECB protocols, Bhatti tested positive again and was asked to self-isolate from the rest of the squad in Worcester. Two more tests since, however, have both returned negative.
“The player had returned a positive test result for the remnants of previous Covid-19 infection and in consultation with Public Health England and a virologist, a safety-first approach was taken to isolate the player. The player has now returned a second negative test with no risk of infection to other players and staff,” an ECB spokesperson said.
