England opener Jason Roy picked one between two world-class openers, Rohit Sharma and David Warner. Rohit and Warner are among the most destructive openers currently in limited-overs cricket.

Roy was asked to name one opener who he would like to pair up to open an innings. Sharing his pick, he said Rohit Sharma, in an interview with CricTracker.

Rohit has had a terrific outing with the bat last year. In the ODIs, he aggregated 1,490 runs in 27 innings at an average of 57.3. He scored 7 hundred in 2019, and his powerful impact came in ICC World Cup in England where he scored 648 runs from nine innings.

The Englishman later talked about the World Cup 2019 final which England won. Roy came good in the tournament with the bat and scored 443 runs at an average of 63.28.

Jason recalled the World Cup final and said the experience was surreal. “Everything that I imagined about the WC final in my childhood, the match transcended every bit of it. Listening to people cheering you was the most insane feeling. Once we went to the ground, it felt like another game. I didn’t watch that game until a month ago when it was replayed on TV,” Roy said.
