Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) coach Ashish Nehra said expressing himself on the field with true emotions works for Virat Kohli. Kohli never hesitates in showing his emotions on the ground.

We see how Kohli celebrates with full enthusiasm whenever a wicket falls. He has often been criticized for being over-aggressive, but the India captain knows how to use it well.

'It is not that MS Dhoni was quiet, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t aggressive. Virat Kohli is someone who shows his emotions on the field, which works for him,” Ashish Nehra said while interacting on the Star Sports show  ‘Cricket Connected’.

Nehra also highlighted how Kohli helped his bowlers go an extra mile which worked for them.

“Virat Kohli is that sort of a guy who helps Mohammed Shami raise the bar. Shami is someone who needed to be pushed and Virat did that. He likes his players on the toes,” the former left-arm seamer added.

Kohli has led team India to Test series win on Australian soil back in 2018. He also took India to ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, and World Cup 2019 semifinal.

With back-to-back ICC tournaments lined-up in upcoming years, there are high hopes from Kohli to lead India to a title win.
