Rahul Dravid beats Sachin Tendulkar in Wisden India poll; voted as Indian's greatest Test batsman

Dravid ended up with 52% of votes in his favor.

Indian cricket legends Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar are some of the greatest ever cricketers the game has seen. The two batting greats have given Indian fans plenty to cherish for their lifetime with their masterclass art with the willow on the field.  

Since Dravid and Tendulkar are legends in their own right, it is really tough to pick best between the two greatest Indian batsmen, and even there is still a debate over who is better between the two in the Tests.

Well, the debate has rekindled by a social media poll conducted by Wisden India, leaving the fans on a daunting task to pick best better Test batsmen between Dravid and Tendulkar on Facebook.

A total of 11,400 fans took part in the poll that saw David ending up with 52% votes, as “The Wall” beat Tendulkar to emerge as the finest Indian batsman in Test cricket in the last 50 years.

Wisden India posted on its social media page, “Much like Dravid batted during his playing career, he dug in and fought back in the poll, eventually crossing the line with a decent lead at the very end,”

The poll was 16 Indian batting greats facing off against each other including Sunil Gavaskar and Virat Kohli. Gavaskar and Kohli finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the polls.

Noteworthy, Dravid scored 13288 runs at an average of 52.31 with 36 centuries and 53 half-centuries in 164 Test matches for India. On the other hand, Tendulkar scored 15921 Test runs at an average of 53.78 with 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries to his name.
