Harbhajan Singh calls for ban on all Chinese products after loss of 3 Indian jawans in a skirmish with China

Indian and Chinese troops are going at each other for last 5-6 weeks in Ladakh.

One colonel and two soldiers were killed by Chinese troops in Galwan ValleyThe skirmish between India and China at the Line of Actual Control in the Galwan Valley, Ladakh turned bloody as India lost three jawans- a Colonel and two soldiers, while China also lost some personnel.

On Monday night, a violent clash between the rival troops took place near the Patrolling Point 14 in the Galwan Valley region while talks were underway to defuse the face-off in the region. The Indian and Chinese troops apparently clashed with rods and stones, much like what had happened on the north bank of Pangong Tso (Tso Means Lake) on May 5 and 6.

In an official statement on Tuesday, the Army said, “During the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday night with casualties on both sides. The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers. Senior military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation.”

According to the Indian Army’s statement, there were casualties on both sides.

“Sourav Ganguly backed me when I had zero backing,” says Harbhajan Singh

This has led to sentiments of Indian citizens boiling up and gave new wind to the Boycott Chinese products movement that has been prevalent for quite some time, ever since Wuhan province in China was revealed as the epicenter of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed more than 9,500 lives in India, while over 3,44,000 people have been affected currently.

The sentiment was further by Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who took to Twitter and urged a full ban on China-made products. “Ban all Chinese products #BoycottChineseProducts,” he tweeted.

Indian and Chinese troops have been at each other in Ladakh for the last five weeks in the Galwan Valley region. This is the first time in 45 years that India has suffered casualties in a face-off with China.
