“Thank You everybody,” says Shahid Afridi to his well-wishers after contracting COVID-19

He thanked all of them and has also urged people to look out for the ones who need help during the pandemic in a heartfelt post on social media.

Afridi had been out on the field with his charity organization Shahid Afridi Foundation to help the underprivileged in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan.

"A quick message to thank everybody who's been praying for my recovery and for the heartfelt messages I've been receiving; thank you so much. Please stay safe & continue to look out for those who need help during these testing times. Lots of love for you all," Afridi wrote on Twitter.

Many cricketers from both India and Pakistan have wished Afridi a speedy recovery as Misbah-Ul-Haq, Gautam Gambhir and Aakash Chopra were amongst those who shared a message for the former cricketer.

"Nobody should be infected with this virus. I have political differences with Shahid Afridi but I want him to recover as soon as possible. But more than Afridi I want every person infected in my country to get well as soon as possible," Gautam Gambhir said on Salaam Cricket.
