Leading Afghanistan cricketers resumed training at the main cricket stadium in Kabul on Sunday (June 7) after a lengthy hiatus due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Captain Asghar Afghan, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi & co will be going through a month-long training camp which will focus on strength and conditioning, as well as batting, bowling and overall performance of the team before the resumption of on-field action in the future.

All players were informed on Saturday (June 6) from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) head office about the health guidelines that will be followed during the camp.
"This camp will be held under the relevant health guidelines and in close coordination with the ICC, WHO and the ministry of public health of Afghanistan to avoid the spread of COVID-19," reads an ACB media release.
Afghanistan is scheduled to take part in the Asia Cup T20 and T20 World Cup, apart from facing Australia in a historic Test match in Perth later this year. However, all fixtures are shrouded with uncertainty because of the ongoing pandemic.
List of players selected by ACB for the camp: Asghar Afghan (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Hazrathullah Zazai, Karim Janat, Mohammad Nabi, Najibullah Zadran, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Naveen ul Haq, Shapoor Zadran, Qais Ahmad, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Azmatullah Omerzai, Samiullah Shinwari, Usman Ghani, Mohammad Shahzad, Sayed Shirzad, Darwish Rasooli, Zahir Khan Paktin, Farid Malik, Hamza Hotak and Sharafudin Ashraf.
