“No more double hundreds against us,” Brett Lee makes a special request to Rohit Sharma

India is supposed to make a trip down under later this year.

Rohit Sharma's three double centuries- 209, 264, 208*Indian opener Rohit Sharma celebrated his accession to the top of batting lineup in 2013 with a brilliant double ton against them in Bengaluru. He made 209 with a then-record 16 sixes to his name and became only the third batsman to achieve this feat at that time.

However, the Mumbai batsman has gone onto make two further double centuries, both of which came against Sri Lanka and includes the world record individual ODI score of 264 runs with another record 33 boundaries to his name, which came in Kolkata a year later.

Then as the captain of the Indian team, Rohit slammed 208* against the Lankans in 2017 in Mohali and thus is the only player to make multiple double-hundreds in the ODI format.

He was also appointed the opener last year in Test matches as well and slammed a double ton against South Africa and two centuries in one Test against the same opponents. This has led to one Australian legend making a special request to the ‘hitman’.

He’ll score a lot of double hundreds hopefully. But not many more against Australia, please... Any other country, Pakistan, West Indies perfect but not against Australia,” Brett Lee said in a conversation with Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.

Brett Lee also shared his first impressions of Rohit Sharma during India’s tour of Australia in 2007-08.

He’s got plenty of years, a lot of cricket left in him. The first impression I got of Rohit Sharma when he came on to the scene was that he was flamboyant. He was very aggressive the way he used to bat but it was the sound of the bat, it’s the first thing that I could think of when I watched him bat. You know when people make that sound when they hit the ball from the centre of the bat, it’s a different sound,” recalled Lee.
