Mohammad Amir is keen to dismiss this Indian batsman and it’s not Virat Kohli

Amir, 28, has retired from Test cricket.

Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 140 against Pakistan in 2019 World Cup | GettyPakistani pacer Mohammad Amir will always be remembered as talent wasted thanks to his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal in England in 2010. He received a considerable five-year ban and six months in a London prison for his efforts.

After returning back into the Pakistani fold, he managed to show sparks of brilliance he had before which included a match-winning performance against India in finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, where he removed the Indian big three of batting and paved way for a 180-run victory for Men in Green.

While Amir has publicly labeled Kohli as the finest batsman in world cricket from the modern generation, the Indian captain is not the batsman from India who he wants to dismiss the most.

During an interaction with Pak Passion, Amir was asked about the batsman he is most keen on dismissing and the left-arm pacer replied with mercurial India opener Rohit Sharma.

A year ago before the famous duel between Amir and Rohit in the Champions Trophy final, the Indian opener had branded Amir a 'normal bowler'. Having got the better of the Hitman on the cricket field, Amir – in an interview post the final – had called Rohit an 'extraordinary batsman'.

That was his opinion about me and he is entitled to that opinion. Maybe his opinion about me has now changed. But let’s get one thing clear, I would never call him an ordinary batsman, in fact, I would call him an extraordinary batsman. His record for India is superb and I respect him” Amir had told Sky Sports.

India and Pakistan are scheduled to meet again in the Asia Cup 2020 and the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. However, whether these events take place or not is a question yet to be answered due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
