Loved when fans chanted ‘Mauka Mauka’ after India lost in 2015, reveals Nasir Hossain

Hossain talked about India losing ODI series in 2015 to Bangladesh for the first time.

Bangladesh beat India 2-1 in ODI series for the first time everEveryone remembers the ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad commercials which Star Sports ran during the ICC World Cup 2015, to highlight the rivalry between India and Pakistan before their iconic match in the tournament.

It grew into a new trend that spread to fans chanting it whenever India played any team, especially in Asia. When the men in blue thumped Bangladesh by 109 runs in the second quarter-final of the 2015 World Cup, quite a few Indian fans had resorted to the chant.

However, later when India toured Bangladesh and lost the three-match ODI series 1-2, the Bangladeshi fans avenged the same by chanting ‘Mauka Mauka’ repeatedly as MS Dhoni and his men experienced their maiden series loss against their minnow neighbors.

"Bangladesh is where we don't get any support," says Rohit Sharma to Tamim Iqbal

Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain, in a candid Facebook Live chat with Cricfrenzy, revealed that he did enjoy the moment a lot but has no hard feelings against Kohli and his boys.

I felt very good about that, when the whole India team was going towards the dressing room [with their head lowered down] the whole gallery was chanting ‘mauka mauka’,” the Bangladeshi cricketer said.

Virat Kohli Hossain also spoke about Virat Kohli’s aggressiveness on the field. “I’ve played against Kohli in the Under-19 and he is like this from that time. We try to be very aggressive on the field that might have happened on that day. I don’t have any hard feelings against him. I didn’t sledge him or anything but it is true that I was very happy to get his wicket. Because we were in need of his wicket very much,” said Hossain.
