Shahid Afridi says he would love to be part of the 'Kashmir' team in PSL one day

Afridi recently went to PoK and had a hate-filled rant against India and PM Modi.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi continues to raise voice for Kashmiris, as the legendary all-rounder has very recently visited Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) dressed in army fatigues and expressed his willingness to help the budding cricketers in the controversial valley.

Addressing a gathering in a village, Afridi said that he was ready to travel Kashmir from Karachi to run a cricket academy in that region in order to help the valley’s budding cricketers to reach them the highest level and play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Even, the former captain has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to include a new franchise with the name of Kashmir in the PSL and he would like to lead that team in his last season in the T20 tournament in Pakistan.

As per reports in India Today, Afridi said over there: “I'll make use of this opportunity and request the Pakistan Cricket Board that next time when they host the PSL, a new team with the name of Kashmir should be included in it. And I would like to lead that Kashmir team in my final year. I request the PCB that the next franchise should be called Kashmir.”

He continued, “If there is a stadium here then there should be a cricket academy as well and I'm willing to travel from Karachi to help run the academy here. I've heard there are 125 clubs in this region so there should be a tournament between those teams.”

The former captain signed off by saying, “I would be happy to come here and watch the matches. The worthy players from that tournament, I'm willing to take them to Karachi with me. They can stay with me, practice with me, and also get their education.”

Noteworthy, he has also made some controversial remarks against India and its Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech in Kashmir for which he has received a lot of criticism from the Indian media and cricketers beside the citizens on the social media.
