Indian cricket team has moved close to the ICC titles since Champions Trophy 2013 win, but they couldn't get one for a long time. In 2014, India lost the T20 World Cup final, the World Cup 2015 saw an exit in semi-finals, and same in T20 World Cup 2016, and the World Cup 2019.
They were defeated by Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2017, which could have ended their dearth of major trophies. But it only ended up adding in another failure in ICC tournaments.

No ICC trophy for almost seven years for India and Rohit Sharma is determined to get two in the upcoming three tournaments.
"It is not easy to win the World Cup, there is a different feeling altogether when you win that tournament, feelings and emotions are attached to that tournament. It's difficult to beat seven-eight teams and win a world cup final. But when you win the world cup your joy doubles," Rohit said during an Instagram live session with Indian cricketer Suresh Raina.
"I think we have an opportunity like there are three World Cups lined up, two T20 World Cups and one 50-over World Cup, and I have said many times that we must win at least two world cups," he added.
Rohit was the highest run-scorer in World Cup 2019 with 648 runs in nine matches at an average of 81.00.
