Well, the critical situation might lead fans to lost their sporting interest a bit in vying to save the life, however, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has a suggestion on how to attract the audience post-COVID-19 era which forced the world to lockdown themselves at home.

He further went on to suggest that the ongoing World Test Championship should be replaced with an Ashes series and a high-voltage series between arch-rivals India and Pakistan to ignite the interest around the world when cricket returns to the field.

Hogg said on his YouTube channel, “The pandemic has opened the door for ultimate cricket rebirth. Viewers want to see some competitive cricket, so scrap the World Test Championship (WTC) for a while and get a couple of series that are really going to ignite the interest around the world.”

He added, “Firstly, scrap this summer’s India series against Australia and have the Ashes played instead. But on the flip side of not having India there, where do they play? They play a four-match series against Pakistan during the Christmas period -- two matches in Pakistan and two matches in India.”

India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral cricket for the past 8 years due to the political tensions between the two neighbors except ICC tournaments and Asia Cup and Hogg feels the fans are eager to see a series between the two old foes.

The Aussie signed off by saying, “We have not seen it (Indo-Pak Test series) for a while and the public is starving for it.”
