Ellen DeGeneres is an American comedian, television host, actress, writer, and producer. She became world-famous because of her talk show called ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ which has been running on TV since 2003.

Root does have a similarity with her and it is not strange that some of his cricketing opponents found it appalling to sledge him with the same.

He told BBC Radio 1, “I've been called Ellen DeGeneres on a number of occasions over the course of my career. I think there's a likeness there.”

As we can see, Root has accepted the likeliness with the American and thus might not have much of an issue being called ‘Ellen’ once again. Fans who had known or found out the similarity between the two might look at them through a different angle the next time onwards.
