India pacer Deepak Chahar, who has played under the leadership of both MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, recently drew parallels between the two captains.

As per Chahar, there are a lot of similarities between Dhoni and Rohit when it comes to keep calm on the field and try to bring the best out of their players.
Notably, Deepak made his India debut under Virat Kohli’s captaincy in 2018 and has played under Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings. With Kohli resting during the home T20I series against Bangladesh last year, he also got the chance to play under Rohit.
"Everybody has their own styles. When you talk about aggression, Virat Kohli is an aggressive captain. When you talk about Rohit bhai and Mahi bhai, both of them are similar when it comes to being cool on the field," Chahar told SportsTak.
"They don't get angry easily. They both try to get the best out of the players.
"MS Dhoni is a wicketkeeper. He can come and give your advice even in the middle of an over. Rohit fields at mid-off, most times. He also trusts the bowlers. He sometimes allows me to go ahead with my own field.
"On the other hand, Mahi bhai knows where the batsman is strong and where he is not. He is vastly experienced. So he sets the field based on that."
Deepak Chahar also pointed out some differences in their captaincy styles but credited both of them for his progress as a fast bowler at the international level.
"There are some differences between them, considering their experience.
"But I have enjoyed playing under both of them. Rohit has shown a lot of faith in me. My career can be attributed to Mahi bhai. He has shown a lot of trust in me.
"In T20s, I noticed one thing. Mahi bhai makes very little changes. When it comes to team selection, he makes few changes. If he has worked out a formula, he wants to carry it forward to the next matches.
"Rohit bhai likes to make changes. If you look at it, he sometimes uses 6 bowlers for 6 overs in powerplays. He trusts in unsettling the batsmen. This is one difference I find between them.
"But if you look at the larger picture, there are similarities between the both of them," Chahar said.
After recovering from a back injury, Deepak Chahar was set to ply his trade for CSK in IPL 2020. But a nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak forced the BCCI to suspend the cash-rich event indefinitely.
