Sharma scored runs by the bucket in the tournament, which he aspires to win and is something that he and his teammates have dreamt together and that he is confident India will be able to win a world title in the near future.

"Winning the World Cup is a dream of all us, together. I want to win World Cups. Of course, every time you go out there, you want to win every game. But the World Cup is something that you know is the pinnacle of everything. I want to win World Cups," Rohit said.

Rohit Sharma topped the batting charts at the 2019 World Cup with 648 runs from 9 matches. The Mumbaikar has the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy in his cabinet of ICC silverware.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is all set to discuss the fate of the T20 World Cup in Thursday's Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) meeting on Thursday, given the travel restrictions that have been enforced in Australia.

But Rohit thinks that the Indian team has enough time to prepare for the world T20 event, despite the clouds of uncertainty looking over the tournament.

"We are really not sure when this World Cup (T20 World Cup) is going to happen. As and when it happens, we will have a fair amount of time to prepare for it. The cricket boards around the world are not going to say 'everything is fine, we will schedule the World Cup'. Of course, preparation time is going to be given for all the countries because all the countries are under lockdown. Nobody's playing, nobody's training. The limited stuff at home is not enough," Rohit said.

"Especially for me, I was just injured before the lockdown and I need to start working hard. I was just around the corner to do my fitness test. The 1st thing for me would be to pass the fitness test and hit some balls. The last ball I played was on February 2. That's when I got injured. I am just looking forward to going out there and playing and doing what I love the most,” he signed off.
