With the entire world going through an economic crisis due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic, Bangladesh’s spin-bowling consultant Daniel Vettori is all set to become the latest from cricket fraternity to suffer financially as per his contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The deadly outbreak of the coronavirus has put the entire world under lockdown which has badly hit the worldwide economy besides hurting the sporting world and human life which is in serious danger across the world at the moment.

With all the cricketing fixtures suspended for an indefinite amount of time, former New Zealand captain Vettori will not get paid by the BCB during the ongoing lockdown, confirmed the Bangladesh board’s media committee chairman Jalal Younis on Friday (April 17).
According to a contract between the BCB and Vettori, the spin-bowling consultant has to work for 100 days with the Tigers to get fully paid by the board.
The contract stated that Vettori will be paid on the basis of the number of days he works, which means he will not get paid for the off days due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Mr. Yunus stated as per the reports on Cricfrenzy: “No, the contract is very clear. In the contract paper, it is written that he has to work on 100-working days. Whatever the reason occurs, Vettori will get paid as many days as he will work with the national team, he will get his salary.”
He signed off by saying, “Basically, our agreement with Vettori is on a daily basis work. The Kiwi spin coach has been contracted to work with our national team for 100-days a year. For this reason, he has been paid a large sum for his per working day. Now, as many days he will work, he will receive the salary on those days. However, this rule does not apply to all foreign national coaching staff. They have been contracted on a monthly basis. They will get paid monthly.”
