Indian captain Virat Kohli has been on a roll in all the three formats leading the team amicably. However, his failure to win any ICC silverware has become a talking point for his detractors. This despite the fact he is the first and only captain to win a Test series in Australia.

However, former India opener and captain Kris Srikkanth feels that Kohli has all the leadership qualities and even compared him to the country’s first World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev.

"I played with Kapil Dev and played under him. I can compare Virat Kohli with Kapil Dev. I see a tremendous amount of self-belief in him," Srikkanth said on Star Sports Cricket Connected.

He was chatting with former India batsman VVS Laxman and England captain Nasser Hussain.

On the other hand, Laxman mentioned that Kohli’s intensity sets him apart from other batsmen. "The one thing I admire about Virat Kohli is his intensity. One thing I was worried about was whether he will burn out quickly. But not even one session or one over he lets his intensity drop and that is really commendable," Laxman told Star Sports.

Virat Kohli is considered to be one of the best batsmen in modern era cricket and averages above 50 in all the three formats of international cricket. In Tests, he has scored 7240 runs at an average of 53.62 and in ODIs, he has scored 11,867 runs at an average of nearly 60.
