Shane Warne picks his all-time Pakistan best XI; names Wasim Akram as captain

He picked three seamers and two spinners in his side.

Shane Warne has named his best Pakistan XI on Instagram Live and picked the legendary Wasim Akram to captain the side.

Former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne decided to engage with his fans via Instagram Live during the isolation period amidst the Coronavirus crisis. He decided to name a Pakistan XI including only those players who he had played against.

The 50-year-old picked the left-handed duo of Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail to open the innings. They would be followed by Mohammad Yousuf at No. 3 and anchor the innings till the very end. He named the legendary Inzamam-ul-Haq to bat at No. 4.

Another batsman who formed the mantle of Pakistan’s innings in Warne’s era was Younis Khan, who he picked to bat at No. 5. Moin Khan has been given the responsibility of keeping wickets.

Warne picked three seamers and two spinners in the side. He chose Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar as fast bowlers. The spinners finding a place in the squad are Saqlain Mushtaq and Mushtaq Ahmed.

He decided to name Wasim Akram as the captain of the side. Akram has captained over 100 international games for Pakistan and has won more than half of those. Thus, he may prove to be a good captain of Shane Warne’s Pakistan XI:
