The coronavirus that originated in China is now spreading all across the globe. The virus which was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) has created a lot of panic amongst the people.
This panic has caused a lot of offices to have their employees working from home. BCCI headquarters in Mumbai is the latest addition to the list of offices being closed as they told their employees to start working from home from Tuesday (17 March).
“The BCCI employees were today notified that the headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium will be shut down in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. All the staffers have been told to work from home,” a BCCI source told on conditions of anonymity.
This coronavirus outbreak has even led to BCCI postponing the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 29 March to 15 April and also in suspending all the cricketing operations till further notice.
India has recorded about 114 positive cases so far with two deaths while the global death toll has gone over 6000 with the number of infected is over 1,60,000.
