Glenn McGrath has chosen a tougher opponent to bowl to from Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara.

Former Australian pacer Glenn McGrath at his peak bowled to the likes of Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar when they were at their peak too and thus has a fair bit of experience playing against the best of them. He was asked about who was tougher to bowl to.

McGrath told TOI, “That was Brian (Lara). He never changed his game. I may have got him out 15 times, but he also scored big hundreds and double hundreds against us when both I and Warnie (Shane Warne) were playing together for Australia. When it was his day, he could do absolutely anything. Sachin was equally as good, but there was something about Brian where he could just keep going and he was slightly harder to bowl to than Sachin. He was more fearless.

NZ v IND 2020: "Have total faith in India's world-class bowling attack," says Glenn McGrath

He was one of the most accurate bowlers of all time. To receive compliments from him is a big thing for any international bowler. He has appreciated the way Jasprit Bumrah has been bowling so far and is surprised to see him low on the rankings.

I was surprised to see him so far down the order in the rankings, he has been injured a little bit of late.

The 50-year-old also said that Bumrah will bounce back soon as some bowlers take time to get back to their best after an injury.

Bumrah is unique. The way he goes about it—short run-up, powers through the crease, can swing the ball, good control and good pace—(even in) second or third spell. I do not have any issues with Bumrah. He is coming back from injury. Sometimes it takes a little while for you to get back in,” he added.
