"Mankading" was once again discussed at length when Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad decided to run-out Pakistan’s Mohammad Huraira for backing up too far during the quarterfinal of the just-concluded ICC U-19 World Cup in South Africa. 

The form of dismissal, named after India great Vinoo Mankad for he ran-out Australia's Bill Brown on the historic 1948 tour, has long been legalised by the ICC but is yet to be morally accepted by the wider cricket fraternity as it continues to debate whether the bowler's act of running out the non-striker is against the spirit of the game or not.

A question on the same was recently asked at the Cricket Australia awards to pacer Josh Hazlewood, who amusingly replied that he would save his instance of "Mankading" for when India's Cheteshwar Pujara comes visiting down under later in the year for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. 

Now, Pujara also responded in jest to the fast bowler, thanking him for an early warning. 

Hazlewood gave his actual views on the matter much earlier when in a podcast he urged the game's administrators to take this form of dismissal out of cricket's laws. 

"I’m not happy with it at all," he told The Unplayable Podcast. "I don’t think it should be in the game, to be honest. Maybe if the batters really start to take advantage, then the umpire needs to step in."
