ICC on Monday (February 16) fined England 20 per cent of its match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate in the third and final T20I against South Africa in Centurion.

The visitors were found one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration by ICC Elite Panel of Match Referee David Boon; this was deemed a breach of Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences.

England captain Eoin Morgan accepted the charge and sanction, leaving no requirement for an official hearing on the matter.

Batting first after winning the toss, South Africa posted a massive total of 222/6 on the board, with the likes of Temba Bavuma (49), skipper Quinton de Kock (35), Heinrich Klaasen (66) and David Miller (35) taking the English bowling unit to the cleaners; only Tom Curran (2/33) and Ben Stokes (2/35) could feel a certain sense of satisfaction over their performances on the day as rest of the bowling attack went for plenty.

In response, England powered its way through the goal post on the back of superb knocks from Jos Buttler (57), Jonny Bairstow (64) and captain Eoin Morgan (57*), who enabled their team's amazing five-wicket victory, pulling off one of the highest-ever successful run-chases in the history of T20 cricket.
