Bangladesh ready to play T20Is but not Tests in Pakistan

BCB wants to test things out with a short T20I visit before deciding upon the Test matches.

Pakistan is currently hosting Sri Lanka for Test matches | GettyMuch to the despair of its Asian counterpart, Bangladesh Cricket Board has refused to travel to Pakistan for a scheduled two-match Test series in January-February and instead just play the T20Is that were part of the itinerary.

This led PCB CEO Wasim Khan to write a strong letter to the BCB asking them to outline the reasons for not wanting to play Tests in Pakistan as Sri Lanka is doing currently in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The board doesn't want to shift the games to a neutral country after so much effort and investment into security arrangements.

"The BCB have informed us that they would like to play three T20 matches in Pakistan but for now they don't want to play Test matches," he was quoted as saying by PTI

Sri Lanka's visit was possible only after a delegation from the Island nation as well as the ICC was satisfied with the level of security put in place. Even the MCC on Wednesday decided it'll be sending a cricket team to the country in February under the captaincy of its president Kumar Sangakkara. So, the PCB finds no reason for Bangladesh's stance in disagreement.

"The ICC has accepted our security plan and arrangements but we are still in touch with the BCB officials and will sort this out," Wasim added.

The BCB top officials, on their part, said they want to test things out with a short T20I visit before deciding upon the Test matches.
