Smriti Mandhana named in both the ICC Women's ODI and T20I teams of the year 2019

Meg Lanning named captain of both ODI and T20I teams of the year | GettyIndian women’s team opener Smriti Mandhana made her country proud as she was named by the ICC in their ODI and T20I teams of the year for 2019. The 23-year-old Mandhana has played 51 ODIs and 66 T20Is for India, besides a couple of Test matches.

Along with Mandhana, Jhulan Goswami, Poonam Yadav, and Shikha Pandey also made it into the ODI team of the year, while Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav join the opener in T20I side. Mandhana has a combined tally of 3476 runs in T20Is and ODIs.

Apart from Mandhana, Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy have also been named in both the T20I and ODI team of the year for 2019. Australia captain Meg Lanning was named the captain of both the teams. "It's a huge honor to be named the captain of the ICC ODI and T20 Teams of the Year alongside some incredible players. It's been an amazing year for the Australian team and we're looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead in 2020. A home T20 World Cup is an opportunity that doesn’t come along often, but we are looking forward to and embracing the challenge of performing well in front of our home crowd,” Lanning said.

Alyssa Healy (AUS- WK), Danielle Wyatt (Eng), Meg Lanning (Aus-C), Smriti Mandhana (Ind), Lizelle Lee (SA),  Ellyse Perry (Aus), Deepti Sharma (Ind), Nida Dar (Pak), Megan Schutt (Aus), Shabnim Ismail (SA), Radha Yadav (Ind)

Both teams and the annual women’s individual awards sides have been selected by the voting academy, which took into consideration player performances throughout the 2019 calendar year.
