Former Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq stirred a hornet’s nest when he termed Indian fast-bowling ace Jasprit Bumrah as a ‘baby bowler’. He said that there is nothing special in the Gujarat born pacer and he would have dominated him in his prime.
Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Razzaq said: “After having faced world class bowlers in my time, I would have had no problem against a bowler like Bumrah. Pressure would have been on him. I have played against great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him.”

However, his statements didn’t sit right with the legion of Bumrah fans and even some former India players took offense to the same. Irfan Pathan said that it's better to ignore such over the top statements and Aakash Chopra called Razzaq childish.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, the IPL franchise for whom Bumrah plays in the league, took a savage dig at Razzaq’s comment and wishes their premier bowler, who is celebrating his 26th birthday today on December 6. “From a ‘baby bowler’ to a world-beater ???? ???? ???? #BoomBoozled #OneFamily #CricketMeriJaan #MumbaiIndians @Jaspritbumrah93,” tweeted Mumbai Indians.
Bumrah has captivated the imagination of Indian fans and cricket lovers all over the world. Since making his debut in 2016 for the Indian team, he has picked 51 T20I wickets in 42 matches, 103 wickets in 58 ODIs and 62 wickets in 12 Test matches. He is ranked no.1 in ODI cricket rankings for bowlers.
