MS Dhoni's retirement speculations have been making the headlines ever since India’s World Cup 2019 campaign ended on July 10.

Following the quadrennial event, the veteran wicketkeeper missed the limited-overs series against West Indies, South Africa and Bangladesh. Moreover, he has not been picked for the next month’s ODI and T20I series against West Indies at home and there is no certainty over his participation in the New Zealand tour, scheduled to start on January 24, 2020.

Amid the hue and cry, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Friday (November 29) said that there's enough time to decide on Dhoni's future and things will get clearer in a few months time.

Ganguly’s comments came in the wake of India head coach Ravi Shastri's remarks that IPL 2020 will give a clear picture on Dhoni's future.

"We will see what happens, there's enough time. Of course it will get clear (within three months)," the BCCI chief quoted as saying by PTI.

While making an appearance at a promotional event in Mumbai on Wednesday (November 27), Dhoni preempted questions related to his sabbatical and said in hindi, "January tak mat poocho (don't ask me till January)" .

But Ganguly said there was "absolute clarity" among the team think-tank on how to deal with Dhoni's future.

"No no, there is clarity, but certain things cannot be said on public platform. There is absolute clarity on MS Dhoni and you'll find out in time," he said.

"There's transparency between the Board, MS and the selectors. When you deal with such champions -- MS Dhoni is an unbelievable athlete for India -- certain things have to be kept within the closed doors. It's very transparent and everybody knows where they stand," Ganguly added.

Earlier this week, a source close to the former Indian captain told PTI that the celebrated cricketer is likely to take a call on his future after IPL in 2020.

Dhoni had called time on his Test career back in December 2014 while he stepped down as India's limited-overs skipper in January 2017.
