Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has cleared the rumors of MS Dhoni leaving the franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2021. There were a lot of reports based on the source's claim of Dhoni wanting to go into the auction.

But Chennai's official Twitter account put a full stop on the hoax by responding to a news article that read, “MS Dhoni wants to leave CSK? The former captain could join the rival team in IPL 2021". They responded, “No, the nation knows that!”

Reports suggested that Dhoni wants to lower the burden on CSK's purse by going into the auction. It said that the CSK skipper would like the franchise to buy him in auction at a lower price so that they could increase their financial power to buy heavy priced players in the mega auction in 2021.

Dhoni may be returning to the cricket field in 2020. The cricketer hasn't played since the World Cup 2019 exit of India. When a reporter questioned about his future, the 38-year-old told him not to ask anything till January next year.

Even India coach Ravi Shastri has said Dhoni can make it to the T20 World Cup 2020 squad if he shows his potential in IPL 2020.
