Ambati Rayudu replies to HCA chief Azharuddin after being called a "frustrated cricketer"

Rayudu pulled out of the upcoming Ranji Trophy citing corruption in Hyderabad cricket.

Azharuddin had called Rayudu a frustrated cricketerHyderabad cricket has been rocked after their captain for limited-overs tournaments Ambati Rayudu pulled out of the upcoming Ranji trophy accusing the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) of corruption. He even went ahead and tweeted to Telangana's Minister for Industry and Municipal Administration, KT Rama Rao to intervene.

"If you look at the team, some of the players are selected because of the influence of some club secretaries. Sometimes, merit takes a back seat. This is unfortunate. Rich, influential and politicians' children get preferences in Hyderabad teams. This is a true fact. We have to stop this buck. Since someone had to speak out, I thought I should do this. This is how bad the system has become in HCA,” he said about one of his accusations in HCA.

He had also asked Mohammad Azharuddin, former India captain and current head of HCA to clean up the organization. "I did have a talk with the president. He always said he was trying his best. But it never happened. I feel he should have initiated stronger measures but he did not do that. I feel there were more election promises and as a result, the game suffered. It hurt me a lot,” he said.

In reply, Azharuddin slammed the Hyderabad white-ball captain and called him a frustrated cricketer. This, however, didn’t go well with Rayudu it seems, as he once again took to Twitter and asked Azhar to not make things personal. He said the issue was bigger than both of them and that Azhar had a big opportunity to clean Hyderabad cricket.

Hi @azharflicks let's not make it personal.da issue is bigger dan us.we both knw wats goin on in hca.u hav a god given opportunity to clean up hyd cricket.i strongly urge u 2 isolate urself from da seasoned crooks.u wil b savin generations of future cricketers. #cleanuphydcricket,” Rayudu tweeted.
