Ambati Rayudu on Saturday (November 23) accused the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) of indulging in corrupt practices and requested Telangana's Minister for Industry and Municipal Administration, KT Rama Rao, to address the issue.
Rayudu alleged corruption in the HCA just a day after making himself unavailable for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.
"Hello sir @KTRTRS, I request u to plz look into nd address the rampant corruption prevailing in hca. Hw can hyderabad be great when it's cricket team is influenced by money and corrupt people who have numerous ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) cases against them which are being swept under the carpet," Rayudu tweeted.
Meanwhile, HCA president Mohammed Azharuddin has reacted on Rayudu’s stern allegations.
“He is a frustrated cricketer,” Azharuddin quoted as saying by PTI when asked about Rayudu’s claims.
This was Rayudu's first post on Twitter after his '3D glasses' tweet just before the World Cup 2019.
Rayudu was not included in the 15-man India squad for the World Cup because of not having a "three-dimensional" game and Vijay Shankar was preferred over him. After the omission, the 34-year-old had tweeted sarcastically "Just ordered a new set of 3D glasses to watch the World Cup," aimed at chief selector MSK Prasad.
Disappointed by the selectors’ decision, Rayudu had also announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in July. However, he took a U-turn and staged a comeback ahead of the domestic season and captained Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournaments.
